What inspires you?

Even the most unique person you know will have been inspired by someone, or something, that exists in the world around them. As humans we do not live in a vacuum; there will always be some kind of motivation that causes this unique person to incorporate certain elements of their surroundings into the way that they dress.
Often, these people aren't even consciously aware of what it is that has inspired them; it simply feels "right" to have chosen that particular look at that particular moment.
Whether it's the natural environment, a cityscape, a film, a person, a work of art or a bygone era, there is fashion inspiration just waiting to be discovered in the world around us. Sometimes you'll be able to define it exactly and other times it will be less tangible - either way, it doesn't matter, so long as you find your inspiration in the first place.
You don't have to answer here, but it's a question worth thinking about the next time you find yourself scouring your own favourite shopping haunts... what inspires you most of all when it comes to the way you dress? Like all the best things in life, not a single person's inspiration will be one hundred per cent the same as another's. It's just not possible.
Call it a philosophy of fashion, if you will.
