Vivienne Westwood goes derelicte

Menswear is not my forte, however I just couldn't resist posting some pics from Vivienne Westwood's Fall 2010 Men's Collection, which was presented at Milan Fashion Week earlier this month. Inspired by society's down-and-outs, Westwood lined the catwalk with cardboard boxes and sent her faux-filthy models out wearing a variety of ensembles that included (but were not limited to) ill-fitting shiny jackets, jeans tucked into football socks, torn leggings, kilts, poorly tailored suits and random bits of fur.
Now I love how Vivienne Westwood will go there ('there' being the oddest place you can imagine) but really, it's tough not to laugh when looking at these guys! While I do like what's being represented here - a reminder to the upper echelons that these are tough times for many - I'm not sure if "paying homage to the homeless" in one's designs is the right way to go about it. Or is it?
One thing that I do like about this show, however, is the diversity of the models used. Different sizes, ethnicities, and ages are all represented here: definitely refreshing to see in a major European show! As for the clothes, well..... I'll let you decide.
