The straw fedora
February 4th 2009 03:03
The fedora has been the hat of choice for the last couple of seasons now, but the trend has evolved along the way: first it was classic black, then tweed-patterned, now it's all about straw. This latest incarnation is ideal for summer - straw fedoras are lightweight and don't absorb heat, and will give your outfit a casual, bohemian vibe whilst keeping you firmly on-trend.
Straw fedoras are not just for girls, either - many male celebs, as well as hip young Sydneysiders, have been spotted with one of these hats on their noggin. Whether you choose a plain straw fedora or one with a hat-band is entirely up to you, as both will work - though personally I think the black hat-band works best. Team it with aviators and you've got yourself a look that is both classic and very 2009. Here are some celebs who've been snapped sporting this new trend.
