The slouchy beanie
July 31st 2008 14:59
Blame it on Rachel Bilson. Since she began wearing her slouchy beanies over a year ago - usually perched jauntily on the crown of her head - Aussie women have taken up the trend with gusto. This winter, everywhere you look in Sydney you'll see slouchy woollen beanies, sometimes in grey, often in red, always warm and practical for covering bad hair too. Various celebrities have picked up on this trend, as it's such an easy-to-wear one, and you most certainly won't break the bank if you decide to pick up on this trend (hats aren't for everyone, I know). I expect this look to last for another season or two, as these beanies are almost universally flattering, and will give your outfit an urban edge.
Remember - the slouchier it is, the better! It looks best when worn over loose, long hair, but work it however you like. Enjoy the rest of the winter season!
