The gladiator heel
August 11th 2008 13:36
When Carrie Bradshaw was spotted wearing gladiator heels not once, but three times in the Sex and the City movie, we knew that we'd have a new trend on our hands. Sure enough, celebrities of all persuasions have been seen sporting this chic new style of late. The gladiator heel is essentially a sexier take on last year's flat gladiator sandal. It's chunky, it's bold, and it's a trend in footwear that will likely be big news by the time the Aussie summer rolls around.
You can wear gladiator heels in whichever colour you like, but most celebs - as the photos below demonstrate - prefer dark brown or classic black. As these heels are already eye-catching enough in their design, to wear them in a bright colour would probably be overkill. Best worn with a short dress, these heels will give your otherwise feminine outfit an element of toughness. Gladiators - are you ready?
