Taylor Swift's red carpet style

She may have been upstaged by Kanye West's rude interruption at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this week, but rarely is Taylor Swift upstaged on the red carpet. The 19-year-old country music sensation has an absolutely flawless sense of style when it comes to formal dressing; she's the very epitome of elegance and grace. Her style is both unashamedly glamorous and very, very feminine.
In stark contrast with most young starlets her age, she doesn't flaunt her body by flashing too much skin; rather, she selects form-fitting gowns that show off her figure without being overtly sexy. As such, she reminds me of a Disney princess: beautiful, smart, and classy. Lavish gowns of all colours appear to be among her favourites, though she also looks divine in metallics and frequently wears sequin-embellished dresses on the red carpet. She also like to play around with different necklines, particularly strapless and sweetheart styles, as well as the ever-popular one-shoulder look.
Although her red carpet style is usually one of timeless simplicity, she does occasionally experiment with trendier looks but as of 2009 hasn't made the move into risky territory - as such, I'm yet to see her make a fashion faux pas! No doubt she will try out some more creative looks once she gets into her twenties, but for now, her creativity is mostly limited to her music. This is by no means a criticism - she always looks amazing - but I'm anticipating some more interesting additions to her red carpet wardrobe in the future. Until then, it's all about elegance, and Miss Swift does it to perfection.
