On the catwalk: Acid brights
April 4th 2011 02:53
After three seasons of nudes and neutrals washing out the runways, it was really only a matter of time before the fashion pendulum swung back the other way. Eye-popping bursts of acid bright colour have dominated the Spring/Summer 2011 shows, providing welcome relief to those of us who would rather stick pins in our eyeballs than gaze upon yet another beige ensemble.
And while there's no denying that some designers have let their collections stray into garish territory, for the most part it's been a stylish celebration of colour in all its unabashed glory... complete with clean minimalist lines, luxe fabrics, ever-popular draping and the emergence of a seventies-inspired aesthetic.
Here's a selection of my favourite looks from some of the world's top fashion houses, all from their Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Enjoy!
