Mila Kunis models for Christian Dior
January 9th 2012 04:26
How do you know when you've made the transition from starlet to superstar? When Christian Dior comes knocking at your door! Hollywood actress Mila Kunis has become the newest face (and body) of Dior, joining the likes of Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, and her Black Swan co-star Natalie Portman in the highly coveted position. And despite the fact that she calls herself a "jeans and T-shirt" kind of girl, you have to admit that she looks right at home in the role of Miss Dior.
"I'm honestly just learning about fashion," the down-to-Earth actress told WWD.
"In my daily life, I don't wear the most feminine pieces. But I love to feel feminine when I'm on the red carpet," she said.
"I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I always thought what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful."
As you'd expect, the bigwigs at Christian Dior were full of praise for Kunis as well: Delphine Arnault, the deputy general manager at Dior, described the 28-year-old as being "a very talented young actress" and an embodiment of "the true modern woman".
"Her performance in Black Swan was remarkable. She is very gifted," Arnault said. "We are looking forward to a long relationship with her."
The ethereal-looking ad campaign was shot by famed Swedish photographer Mikael Jansson (who has done campaigns for several elite fashion houses in the past, including DKNY and Calvin Klein), and is expected to appear in the international editions of Vogue, Elle and Madame Figaro later this month.
As for Kunis, she'll next be hitting the big screen in the Seth MacFarlane-directed comedy Ted - "It's Mark Wahlberg, myself and a talking teddy bear," she explained helpfully - and will also be starring alongside James Franco, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz in the highly anticipated Oz: The Great and Powerful, which is slated for a 2013 release.
