Large handbags

June 17th 2008 04:13
This is one trend that isn't going anywhere fast! Regardless of their fabric, detailing and design, the large handbag is here to stay, largely (no pun intended) because of its extreme functionality. You can fit your whole life into these bags, and some of your shopping too!

Jessica Simpson with a large Jimmy Choo

Nicole Richie

Supermodels and Hollywood starlets were spotted carrying larger-than-life handbags over a year ago, and celebrities like Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson have several. Paris Hilton showed off her large Balenciaga bag during her brief visit to Australia last year.

Kate Moss

So whether you favour the metallic look displayed by Miss Hilton, the patent-leather look of Kate Moss, the crocodile-style of Fergie or the plain white simplicity of Jessica, Lindsay and Nicole, remember that when it comes to your choice of handbag this season, the bigger it is, the better.

Hi Tracy, yeah I can't afford designers either but there have been some great non-label bags in the shops lately. My handbag of the mo is large and has heaps of compartments, I love it! Cheers for commenting.

Oh really, I might have a look. But does yours get really heavy? My fave one is normal-sized and I always seem to over-fill it and end up walking like I have a hunchback...

It does tend to get heavy if I've got books and things in there, doesn't bother me though. As long as the straps are wide enough not to cut into your shoulders, it's all good.

Sounds like you have it all sorted!
