Lady Gaga goes makeup-free for Harper's Bazaar

What does Lady Gaga look like without makeup? Pretty damn amazing, if this Harper's Bazaar photo shoot is anything to go by! The singer is known for her unusual and often confronting getups (who could forget that dress made of raw meat?) but insists that regardless of what she looks like, she's always the same girl her fans know and love.
"Whether I’m wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I’m always the same person inside," she told the magazine for their upcoming October issue.
"I try to not focus on what people expect from me," she continued. "I think what has been lovely about my relationship with the public is that they expect something unexpected from me."
When asked about why she chose such a radical departure from her usual style for this particular photo shoot, the Gaga was philosophical, stating that she didn't perceive this staged naturalness to be any more or less 'real' than how she normally looks.
"I don't really view it as 'natural,'" she said. "I think that artifice is the new reality. It's more about just being honest and sincere to the core of what you do."
In Lady Gaga's opinion, everything in fashion is subject to interpretation, whether it's obviously theatrical or designed to appear natural.
"Don't you think that what's on the cover of a magazine is quite artificial?" she muses. "There's this idea that it's all natural, but everything's been staged to look natural. It is also an invention. It's just that my inventions are different. I often get asked about my artifice, but isn't fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?"
