Celebrity Style: Emma Watson
December 4th 2008 15:41
She's grown up in the public eye as Hermione, and now the lovely Emma Watson is becoming a fashion icon. Her red-carpet style is very feminine - she seems to favour ruffles, shiny fabrics and pastel shades - and at the same time a bit risky. There's always an element to her outfit that is unique, whether it's an embellishment, the cut of the dress, or statement heels.
Because of her burgeoning status as a fashion icon, it was widely rumoured earlier this year that Watson was to become the new face of Chanel. This may in fact be true, but I'm waiting to see the pictures before I confirm it. She would be an appropriate choice given her popularity from the Harry Potter films, but as an 18-year-old may yet be too young. Keira Knightley is the current face of Chanel.
This is not to say that she always gets it right when it comes to her style choices - I'm guessing (and hoping) that from the bemused look on her face, it wasn't Emma herself who chose this particular fashion disaster!
Almost all of the time, however, she pulls off her unusual look in high style. This young starlet is certainly one to watch for the future - both in fashion, and in Hollywood.
