Carey Mulligan for Vogue: The dress 'wouldn't go over my arse'
September 12th 2010 23:09
British actress Carey Mulligan makes a stunning cover girl for the October issue of US Vogue, but admits that the outfit chosen for her didn't quite fit the way she wanted it to! The Chanel couture dress was a sample size sent straight from Paris, which Mulligan said was "very pretty - but wouldn't go over my arse. I'm actually wearing a towel around my waist and the bottom is clipped up because I couldn't fit."
The 25-year-old star is no heavyweight either; it's just that models' sample sizes are always incredibly tiny. Mulligan has never been one to stress about her weight: although she did drop down to 50kg once, she said that it was a big mistake, recalling, "my brain doesn't work when I'm that thin, so I can't do my job."
Mulligan - who is known in fashion circles for her laid-back sense of style, and in Hollywood circles for her critically acclaimed performance in 2009's An Education - will next be on the big screen alongside Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield in Never Let Me Go.
She has been in a relationship with her Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star Shia LaBeouf since August last year.
