A hat... made of rats?
February 26th 2009 14:50
At first I thought this must have been a joke, but sadly it is not: a full-face headdress made of real rats and mice was showcased on the London catwalks this week. The designer, Frenchman Charlie Le Mindu, wanted to demonstrate the "beauty" of the rodents and decided to do so by sewing a bunch of them together for one unlucky model to wear over her face.
"I really like mice and rats," Le Mindu said. "But everybody doesn't like them and I just wanted to show people it could be really beautiful."
I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but somehow, I just don't think the rat hat will be hitting the mainstream anytime soon. Or ever. What do you think?
